2. Visiting this website
Hosting and server logs
The website is provided through OpenAI Sites / Cloudflare. When it is accessed, technically required log data may be processed, including the IP address, time, requested address, amount of data transferred, referrer, browser and operating-system information. This data is used for delivery, stability and security.
Our hosting provider for our location in Germany is OpenAI Ireland Ltd. The site is delivered through Cloudflare infrastructure. Information on processing and international transfers is available in the ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum and OpenAI Privacy Policy. The Sites DPA governs processing of visitor data on our behalf; we do not operate our own visitor database. Processing exclusively in Germany or the EU is not agreed. Sub-processors are listed in the OpenAI sub-processor list. For transfers from the EEA, the Sites DPA provides for adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Cookies, local storage and audience measurement
The current website does not use its own analytics, marketing or tracking scripts and does not require a user account for the content provided. Technically necessary mechanisms of the hosting provider may apply independently.
No additional analytics provider is currently configured.
The hosting infrastructure uses Cloudflare's __cf_bm cookie to protect against automated attacks. It supports bot detection and, according to Cloudflare, expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity. Device access is used for necessary secure delivery (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG); processing is based on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Contact requests
If you contact us by email, we process your sender address, message content and any technical details you provide voluntarily in order to handle your request. Data is shared only where necessary to process the request or comply with legal obligations.
Our email inbox is provided through Apple iCloud Mail. Apple processes the data needed to deliver and store messages. See the Apple Privacy Policy for details.
3. Local app data
Bottle Trouble is a local party game without a user account. In particular, the app stores the following information locally on the device:
- display names and assigned Trouble Teams,
- language selection and game options,
- age and responsible-play confirmation,
- local content and round status.
Based on the current product version, this local game data is not transmitted to Bottle Trouble servers. It generally remains on the device until the app is deleted or the data is reset through a function provided in the app.
Diagnostics and crash data
Bottle Trouble contains no first-party analytics or crash-reporting service. Depending on your device settings, Apple may process diagnostic information and share it with developers. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process crash and performance data for troubleshooting, analytics and advertising.
4. Advertising, consent and tracking
The free version of the app uses Google AdMob for advertising breaks and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage privacy and advertising consent in relevant regions.
Depending on consent, device configuration, delivery method and Google configuration, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, product interactions, diagnostic data and approximate location derived from the IP address may be processed. AdMob should not be treated as anonymous by default.
In the free version, UMP checks consent status before the first ad request. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the consent message lets you consent, decline or manage individual options. The current advertising partners, purposes and their privacy information are listed in the message. You can revisit your choice using Privacy settings in the app options when this function is provided for your region. This access remains available after a Pro upgrade. UMP may retrieve the current privacy status for this purpose; Pro still does not make ad requests.
Google provides the advertising platform. Google Ireland Limited is responsible for users in the EEA and Switzerland. AdMob may serve ads from additional advertising partners listed in the consent message. We have not integrated additional mediation SDKs for other advertising networks. The Pro version does not make ad requests.
Privacy choices in the United States
In US states supported by Google UMP, you can use Privacy settings to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising (Do not sell or share my personal information). Google applies the supported privacy signals. Advertising disclosures of device identifiers, IP-derived location and usage data may qualify as a sale or sharing under US law even without payment for individual data.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, a copy, correction or deletion of your data and appeal a denied request. Contact our privacy email with the subject Privacy request or Appeal. We verify authority using only information needed for that purpose. We do not discriminate against you for exercising statutory rights. The app is not directed at children or teenagers.
App Tracking Transparency
The current app does not request permission to use Apple's IDFA through App Tracking Transparency. It does not request GPS location either. Other app or device identifiers and approximate location derived from the IP address may still be processed when serving ads.

5. In-app purchases and Apple StoreKit
Pro purchases are processed through Apple StoreKit. Billing, payment details and refunds are handled by Apple. Bottle Trouble does not receive full payment details.
The app checks signed transaction information through StoreKit to recognise a valid Pro purchase and offers purchase restoration through the Apple ID. This includes product and transaction identifiers, purchase information and any expiration or revocation information.

6. Purposes and legal bases
- Website delivery, technical logs and abuse prevention: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is secure, reliable delivery of this website.
- Local gameplay and verification of Pro purchases: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where needed to provide requested functionality.
- Purchase-related support: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other enquiries: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our interest in responding to your request.
- Consent-dependent advertising: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Technical management and evidence of privacy choices support compliance with data protection obligations under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Individual advertising partners' purposes and legal bases are also listed in the consent message.
- Statutory retention and handling data-subject rights: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR together with the relevant legal obligation.
Access to your device is also subject to Section 25 TDDDG: where access is not technically necessary, it requires your consent. Consent management applies your choices about advertising and individual partners. Declining personalised advertising does not necessarily prevent all technical data processing; limited ads may be served within the permitted processing.
7. Recipients, processors and international transfers
Depending on use, data may be transferred to hosting and support providers, Apple for the App Store or StoreKit, and Google for AdMob or UMP. OpenAI processes the hosting data described in the Sites DPA on our behalf. Apple and Google also process data under their own privacy information linked above. The Google controller-controller terms additionally apply to Google advertising services where the processing falls within their scope.
Global providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, particularly in the USA. Details of their transfer grounds and safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, are available in the providers' privacy and contractual information linked above. You can also contact us for information.
Retention
Local game settings remain until deletion or reset on the device. Contact and server data is retained only for as long as necessary for processing, security, evidence or legal obligations. Third parties set additional periods under their policies and the selected configuration.
8. Your rights
Subject to statutory requirements, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to direct marketing at any time without giving a reason.
You may lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, particularly where you habitually live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred. The authority for our location in North Rhine-Westphalia is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).
You do not have to provide personal details to read this website. To answer a support enquiry, we need a contact method and information about the issue. Without technically required data, some app, purchase or website functions cannot be provided. We do not make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on you; advertising partners may nevertheless select and personalise advertising.
Children and young people
Bottle Trouble is intended for adults. The app includes an age and responsible-play notice and is not intended for minors.
Changes
This policy will be updated if features, providers, the law or data processing change. The version published on this page with the stated effective date is authoritative.
